Curriculum

AIBHS is a 30-credit-hour Master of Science (MS) program consisting of sets of four core courses, four experiential learning courses, and additional electives. Full-time students can finish the program in 1.5 years.

The required 4 core didactic courses are:

  • CAI 5720 Fundamentals of AI in Medicine I
  • CAI 5721 Fundamentals of AI in Medicine II
  • CAI 5731 Biostatistics for AI
  • CAI 5026 AI Ethics and Alignment in Health

The required 4 core experiential learning courses are:

  • CAI 6727 Clinical AI Design Studio II
  • CAI 5724 AI Design Studio in Health I
  • CAI 6725 AI Design Studio in Health II
  • CAI 6726 Clinical AI Design Studio I

Students must also earn credit hours in electives from the courses listed below: 

  • CAI 5730 AI in Medical Image Analysis (experiential learning elective)
  • CAI 6734 Applied Generative AI in Medicine
  • CAI 5732 AI for Clinical Decision Support (experiential learning elective)
  • CAI 5733 AI-Powered Drug Discovery
  • CAI 6910 Supervised Research in AI for Health

*Only 3 credits of CAI 6910 Supervised Research AI for Health can apply towards the 30 credits needed for the AIBHS MS.
